Daydream Designs: A Bird Sings

Hi everyone and welcome to another Daydream Monday. It's time for me to share another project created with some of the fabulous digital products available at Daydream Designs.
Today's project really feels like I cheated in some way because I created my entire card front in Photoshop Elements and then printed in out, added some ribbon and glued it to my card base. But, I guess it's just another example of what you can do with digital stamps and papers. I wasn't feeling well enough to sit down at my craft desk and cut, layer, color, etc so, I did it all on my laptop.

I knew I wanted to use the Fun and Flirty digital paper pack and I started with the Peach Polka Dot digital paper. Then I added a layer of the White Stripe digital paper. I added a drop shadow to this layer so that it would look more like layered paper. I decided I wanted to work with the Robin Sitting on Branch digital stamp from the Birds and Bees digital stamp set and I colored the image using the tools in PSE. I picked a sentiment from the Birds and Bees Sentiment set and layered it onto the scene I had already put together. Once I had everything the way I wanted it, I merged all the visible layers together and proceeded to print.

I trimmed the card front out and inked the edges with Calypso Coral ink. It seemed like it would be to CAS for me so, I added a Soft Sky ribbon and bow and then adhered it to a base of Calypso Coral cardstock.

Supplies: from Daydream Designs: Fun and Flirty digital paper pack, Birds and Bees digital stamp set, Birds and Bees digital sentiments; Photoshop Elements; Calypso Coral CS; Soft Sky Double Stitched ribbon.

This is a great way to mass produce cards when you don't have a lot of time. I am beginning to understand the attraction to digital more and more everyday.

Sentimental Sundays: Cute & Girly

Hi Everyone! Hoping you all are having a blessed Sunday.

It's time for a new challenge at Sentimental Sundays and this week we want to see "cute & girly"! This is such a fun challenge for me because I love all things "girly" and it gave me the chance to play with pearls and lace, two of my favorite embellishments.

I started with the pre-colored digi "Spring Swing" from The Paper Shelter. I altered the image in Photoshop Elements using a "Sun Faded Photo" and "Colorful Center" effect. The Paper Shelter has the cutest images I've ever seen and you get a pre-colored digi with each one you purchase.

My sentiment is from Verve Stamps. I stamped it onto a Grommet Tag die cut from Spellbinders and added two heart brads into the grommet holes. I added pearls to the top and bottom left corners of the image and a layer of eyelet lace to the card base. My flower is a Prima Gillian in Raspberry. These are precious little petal puffs of sheer fabric and two-tone paper, accented with a dusting of glitter on the tips. They are the perfect finishing touch to any girly card.

Stop by Sentimental Sundays for more inspiration from the Design Team.

I would like to enter my card into some other fun challenges:

The Paper Shelter : The Great Outdoors
The Corrosive Challenge Blog: Summertime Girls
Crafting When We Can: Summer Fun

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. God Bless You.

Die Cuttin Divas: Anything Goes with a Die-Cut

Hello everyone. It's Tuesday and time for another challenge at Die-Cuttin Divas.

Our challenge this week is "Anything Goes". Just remember to add a die-cut.

I wanted to do something quick and classy so I decided to work with my Spellbinders Lacy Ovals and Outline Stickers from Classy Cards N Such online store.

This beautiful shimmery cardstock is called Stardream Ruby but is in fact a gorgeous shade of purple. My lacy ovals were also cut out of a gorgeous shimmer cardstock called Champagne Reich Shine. The birdhouses are outline stickers that can be colored in or left blank. My flowers are from Prima and they are called Sugar Blooms. Everything I used on my card today is available at Classy Cards N Such and you can take 10% off your order with my discount code: JENNIPHER-10.

Now you must stop by the Die Cuttin Divas to see what my fellow Divas created and to play along in the challenge.

Perfect Sentiments Challenge 06: All Occasion Inspiration

Hello blogging Friends! It's Wednesday and do you know what that means? Time for another fabulous challenge at The Perfect Sentiment!

The Challenge: Create a card that reflects an "All Occasion" sentiment. Just to clarify this is not the same as "Anything Goes". Some examples of all occasion sentiments are: smile, oh happy day, life is good, just a note, etc. In other words these sentiments aren't tied to a specific occasion or holiday. You could use them for whatever you like.

The Twist: Use the following photo as inspiration for your card. You can be inspired by the colors, textures, whatever suits your fancy.

We are so pleased to have Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps as are sponsor for this week!

One lucky random winner will receive their choice of 5 digital stamps or 4 digital stamps and 1 paper pack! How Awesome is that?

We were provided with some fabulous digital images to work with for our challenge samples. Again, very cool sponsor! I chose to work with an image called "Over da Wall Puppy". He is super cute but, you have to see that for yourself...

I was inspired by all that fancy trim on those pillows. So I knew I wanted to incorporate ribbon in to my card. But, the biggest inspiration I pulled from that photo was the pillow that was Lime Green with the Purple Ribbon. That sealed the deal for me because I had been dying to use the Lucky Limeade and Wisteria Wonder together. My image is colored with a mixture of copics and glitter gel pens. The more I use copics the less I like them but, I'm learning some tricks from friends oh how you can use them with your Prisma Color Pencils and I think that's the route I will be taking. I created my sentiment on the computer by using a phrase that I found in the Urban Dictionary.
I'm thrilled with how it turned out as I don't usually make cutesy cards and I have just the friend to send this too.

I was also inspired by the following challenge blogs:

Our Creative Corner: create a masculine card with non-traditional masculine colors
Tuesday Throwdown: Your favorite color combo
2 Sisters Challenge Blog: use ribbon
Stamps R Us: Masculine Theme

Once you're inspired come play along at the Perfect Sentiment! You card could be featured as one of the "Perfect 3" or you could be the lucky random winner for the Prize from Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps!

Sweet Stop Sketch 122

Hello everyone! It's Saturday and I hope that you are off to a wonderful weekend! Saturday also means that it's time for another sketch from the Sweet Stop. Before, I get into the sketch I wanted to share some news with you...This week Korin, the owner of Sweet n Sassy Stamps/Sweet Stop announced that they have become a Member Company at Splitcoast Stampers! The excitement all began on Monday with the August New Release party held in their brand new Member Company forum on SCS. Nothing has changed as far as the Sweet Stop sketches and they will still be hosted at the Sweet Stop blog. If you are a member of the Sweet n Sassy Connection that is still operating as usual. There is one new thing...A new challenge called the Sweet n Sassy Inspiration challenge that can be found in the member company forum at SCS. I combined the inspiration challenge with the sketch.

Here is Taylor's inspiration piece...

Here is Korin's sketch with a spin for this week...

Here is my card combining the two challenges...

Supplies:
Paisley and Petals DSP, Baja Breeze CS, Always Artichoke CS, - Stampin' Up!®; Frayed Burlap and Broken China distress inks - Ranger Industries; Lace-WalMart; Button-Basic Grey; Flower-CTMH; August Gladiola stamp set - Sweet n Sassy Stamps; Victoria embossing folder-Provo Craft; Lacey Labels cartridge, Cricut Expression - vvs

I used the Frayed Burlap distress ink over the raised areas of the of the Victoria embossing folder so that the embossed detail would be more visible. I inked the edges of the half-circle with Broken China distress ink as well as directly inking the white flower with the same ink to have the flower stand out more.

Be sure to visit my fellow Sugar Babies to see what they did with the sketch...

Sweet Stop Sketch 121

Hi Everyone! Hope you all are having a fantastic weekend. It's Saturday and time for another sketch at the Sweet Stop.
Here is the sketch for this week:
Here is my take on the sketch...

My image is "Cocoa's Teacup" from Sweet n Sassy Digi stamps. My sentiment is from Verve Stamps. Everything I used on this card is from my older "stash" of products. This sketch was a lot of fun and pretty straightforward. It is definitely going in my stack of go-to sketches.
Be sure to visit my fellow Sugar Babies to see what they did with the sketch...

Life's a Beach: Charm Feature

Today I am experimenting with the charm feature on the Life's a Beach cartridge for Christian Paper Crafts.
The "charm" is basically a tag with an image in the middle of it.
I knew that I wanted to work with this adorable digi image from Sweet n Sassy Stamps...
I flipped through my handbook until I came across a sandcastle. I thought that would be perfect to go with my digi image above.

Instead of using the "layers" feature to add different colors of cardstock to my sandcastle, I just colored the it with my copics and accented it with stickles.
For my finished project, I decided to make a long card inspired by the challenge this week at CAS-ual Fridays...the Long and Short of It.

If you have this cartridge, why don't you give the charm feature a try?

Sweet Stop Sketch 118

Hello everyone! It's Saturday and time for another sketch from the Sweet Stop.

I think this is my favorite sketch so far! I just know I will refer back to it again. I had such fun making this card.

Let's take a look at some of the details...

Using my Cricut Expression and Elegant Edges cartridge I cut out a scalloped oval in Whisper White cardstock. I stamped the hummingbird tulip image from the "Joyful Heart" stamp set from Sweet n Sassy stamps onto the white oval and colored it with Copics. This was then mounted onto a Melon Mambo cardstock scalloped oval. I inked the edges with Melon Mambo ink and then added Flamingo Liquid Pearls in the center of each circle.

Here you see a close-up of the sentiment from the "Joyful Heart" stamp set as well as a closeup of the scalloped border I cut using the Cricut and Elegant Edges cartridge. The border was cut in Pool Party cardstock and then accented with Peacock Liquid pearls.

✄Supplies✄
  • Cardstock: Pool Party, Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White
  • Designer Paper: Echo Park "springtime"
  • Ink: Pool Party, Melon Mambo Classic Ink; Spun Sugar Distress Ink
  • Accessories: Martha Stewart Crafts border punch; Peacock, Flamingo Liquid Pearls; White Organza ribbon
  • Cricut Cartridges: Elegant Edges

Clouds for the First Time!

I've been seeing all these fund cards with clouds in the background and wondering "how on earth did they do that". Well, my fellow DT member and blogging friend Shannon was kind enough to share with me a tutorial on how she did hers. Thanks again, Shannon.

This card is my first attempt at making clouds so please keep that in mind. It's also my first time working with "Courageous Carl"as well.

"Courageous Carl" by Crissy Armstrong available at Whismy Stamps. "smile" sentiment from Verve.

This card was inspired by the Craft Your Passion Challenge #66: Just For You- create a general card for anyone. I'm going to send this card to my niece. She's going through some growing pains with her family right now. You know that time in your life when you have graduated from high school so technically, you are an adult but, you live under your parent's roof and you have to abide by their rules? I remember it well and that's what she's going through at the moment.

Sunday's With Crissy is having a Design Team Call! Crissy designed the "Courageous Carl" image I used on my card today.  You can read all about the details and apply by clicking the link below.

Christian Paper Crafts Color Monday 113/Cricut DT Call

Hello blogging Friends & Followers! It's Monday and time for the Color Monday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts. [please scroll all the way down to read about the Cricut DT call]
Our Color Story for this week is a Nautical Living Room. I was inspired by the big star on the wall and the shades of blue.

Drawing inspiration from the photo I was compelled to pull out my never-before used "You Rock" stamp set from Verve. For colors I couldn't help but to pair up one of my older favorite color schemes of Blue Bayou, River Rock, and Soft Sky from Stampin' Up!® The stars were stamped on Soft Sky cardstock with Blue Bayou ink and then fussy-cut and covered with Glossy Accents from Ranger Industries.

Here you can see a close-up of the sentiment that comes with the "You Rock" set from Verve. It was stamped on Soft Sky cardstock that was cut using the Cricut & the Elegant Edges cartridge and then matted on to Blue Bayou cardstock. All the edges were inked to add definition. You should also see that I used my Cuttlebug and Stars embossing folder on the Western Sky Designer Series Paper keeping everything in-line with my "stars" theme.

We would love to have you play along with the Color Monday Challenge. If you are not a member of Christian Paper Crafts you can play along with the challenge at the Christian Paper Crafts Creative Blog.

Christian Paper Crafts Cricut Design Team Call
As you all know, I host the Color Monday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts. I'm also their Cricut Specialist/Cricut Forum Moderator.
