The Perfect Sentiment: Piece it Together

It's Wednesday and time for another fun challenge at The Perfect Sentiment! This week we are challenging you to use your scraps of paper to build your background for your card. The ladies on the team did a fabulous job with this challenge and it's really quite inspiring so, I hope you will stop by the challenge blog and give it a peak.

Using my scraps from a recent card and my square and leaf punches this is what I came up with:
Supplies: scraps from Basic Grey, leaf punch and square punch by EK Success; decorative label punch from SU; River Rock cardstock; Thank You stamp from Gina K Designs.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Distressed Thank You's @ The Perfect Sentiment

Hello and Happy Wednesday!

Before I get too far into today's post I would like to say that I owe many of you some blog love and commenting. I apologize for my absence. I was recovering from strep throat and I just took my last nasty antibiotic today! So I plan on catching up with my commenting and I thank you for being loyal followers and friends!! Big hugs to you all.

It's time for a new challenge at The Perfect Sentiment!

The Challenge: create a card with a sentiment of Thank You

The Twist: use some form of distressing on your card...paper tearing, roughed-up edges, inking, crumpling, etc.

I think I threw my Design Team for a loop when I issued them this challenge! LOL
I however, love to distress and ink and quite frankly, if you see a card without those techniques you can rest assured it's not mine. I just feel like something is missing if I don't.

We are blessed (and I don't use that term lightly as it's really hard to get sponsors when you are still a fairly new challenge blog) to have a wonderful new sponsor this week...

Stitchy Bear will award one random winner a $10 Gift Voucher! Do they ROCK or what?

They also provided us with images to work with. I used the Shaded Flower.

I distressed the edges of all my papers. Then I inked the base of the card with Pumice Stone Distress Ink. I used Crumb Cake seam binding for my ribbon and bow. My image is colored with copics which I am still learning how to work with. My sentiment is from the fabulous Verve set "Words Cannot Express".

You must stop by and visit my fellow design team members to see what they did with this challenge:

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Classy Cards N Such: Easy Elegance

Hi Everyone! Today is my first post as a Guest Designer for Classy Cards N Such! I'm going to share with you how to make easy elegant cards using outline stickers and just a few other supplies.

I started by creating a 5.5x4.25 card base out of Reich Shine Champagne cardstock. Using Spellbinders Labels Eighteen and Very Vanilla cardstock from Stampin' Up!® I cut out the larger and smaller labels.
To the largest label I adhered the Gold Tulip Window outline sticker and then colored it in to give it that stained glass look. On the smaller label I stamped my sentiment, "with gratitude" from Verve Stamps. I inked the edges of both labels with Gold Colorbox pigment ink. I adhered my larger label to the card base and then popped-up the smaller one, slightly over-lapping the large label. On opposite corners I added the Gold Gothic Corners to create that perfect finishing touch.
This was super quick and easy to make and is ideal for when you need to mass produce "thank you" cards. To make it even quicker you can leave off the Copic coloring. The outline stickers are gorgeous with or without the coloring. If you've never tried the outline stickers I hope that you will. You can take 10% off your order at Classy Cards N Such by using the discount code JENNIPHER-10

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you enjoyed my easy elegant card.

Christian Paper Crafts Color Monday 107

Hello and happy Monday! I have taken on a new role at Christian Paper Crafts as the Color Monday challenge hostess. So every Monday I will be sharing the inspiration photo and sample with you here on my blog too. If you are inspired by it, feel free to play along and if you are not a member of Christian Paper Crafts you can link up your creations on our Creative Blog.

Here is the inspiration photo:

For the challenge you can use all the colors or just one or two. The choice is totally yours. You can create anything you like including cards, ATC's, tags, altered art, scrapbook pages, etc. Just have fun with it, create, and share!

I decided to use more of a clean and simple style for this card. I had to distress and ink the edges, that's a must-do with me! The other thing I was going for was using up some of my stash and minimal stamping. The patterned paper and the 'Notes' sticker is Notations Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!® The border and leaf die-cut are from K & Co. I used Tempting Turquoise cardstock from SU to create my card base. For inking the edges of the papers and card base I used Broken China Distress Ink by Tim Holtz and Thatched Straw VersaMagic chalk ink. I stamped my sentiment using a Verve "freebie" stamp and Memento black ink.

Thanks for stopping by!
