PSC53D: Birds & Blooms

Hello everyone and welcome to the fourth and final day of our one year birthday/anniversary challenge celebration at The Perfect Sentiment! We have sponsors who have donated generous prizes for each challenge and since we are doing this blog hop style, there are hidden prizes along the way. The good news is you will have 3 full weeks to complete all the challenges and blog hops. There will also be a grand prize that you will be eligible for if you complete all the challenges! You can see the Grand Prize and add you name to the inlinkz here once your complete all four of the challenges.

PSC53D: The Challenge/Twist: create a card with a sentiment for the occasion of your choice. Include your sentiment on the front of your card. / Incorporate a bird or a bloom, or the combination of both somewhere in the design of your card.

I have to admit that when I planned this challenge I had an unfair advantage over my Design Team. I knew I had the perfect image to use and it was still in it's original package, unused. The image comes from a stamp set called "Praise The Lord" by Sweet N Sassy Stamps.

Like I said, perfect, right? My card design was inspired by this week's Mojo Monday Sketch.

Supplies: Praise the Lord stamp set by Sweet N Sassy Stamps; Lacy Squares Spellbinders Dies, Cricut & Phrases cartridge (used to cut out little banners); Weathered Wood Distress Ink; Basic Gray CS from SU; Gina K Pure Luxury CS; My Minds Eye Dolled Up Designer Paper Pad; Copic Markers; Prima flower and Pink brad from my stash.

Hop along to the following blogs to see what our Perfect Sentiments Team has created to inspire you!

Be sure to leave a comment at each blog as there are hidden prizes along the way.

PSC53C: Christmas Critters

We are still celebrating our one year Anniversary/Birthday at The Perfect Sentiment with daily challenges, prizes, blog hops with hidden prizes, and a chance at a fabulous grand prize which you can see here. I sure hope you plan on stopping by to play in a challenge or two or even better play them all as you have until October 30th to complete all four and have a chance at that fabulous grand prize!

PSC53C: The Challenge/Twist: create a card with a sentiment for Christmas; include a critter somewhere on your card. We are looking for animals, bugs, mice, etc. Not humans. You can have a human on your card but, there must be evidence of a critter somewhere. For example: A little girl holding a puppy would work fine. Don't forget to include your sentiment on the front!

I chose to use Cocoa the Mouse as my critter. My inspiration for the design of this card came from this week's sketch at The Sweet Stop. I haven't played along with one of their sketches since my Design Term ended with them last year. That's a long time.

Supplies: American Crafts CS and Designer Paper; Gina K Designs Pure Luxury CS; Liquid Pearls; Stickles; Tiny flowers from Prima; flower brads from stash; Santa's Helper Stamp Set from Sweet N Sassy Stamps.

Crafty City will award one lucky random winner a $5 gift voucher to be used in their store. Plus, if you spend $25 or more they will throw in this 6x6 Paper Pad by Glitz Designs:
Regretfully, if you are a prize winner who lives outside of the United States, we will have to substitute your prize with a digital prize that can be sent via electronic mail. By the time we have to do the customs paperwork and everything associated with sending parcels out of the United States, it always costs more than what the prize is worth in most cases, and this includes Canada, unless you have a Post Office Box in the United States. APO and PPO box addresses are considered US. Thanks for your understanding.

Tuesday's Testimonial 04

Hello Everyone! It's time for Tuesday's Testimonial Linky Party where we share any kind of paper-crafted project with any Scripture on it.

Along with your project you can share some encouraging words, a Testimony,  just your thoughts on the Scripture, or say nothing at all.

If you do link up, please take time to leave a comment and then visit one or two of the other links in the party and share in their blessings.

Sometimes when we pray we have to wait longer than we might want to for our answer from the Lord. The important thing is that we don't lose heart, remain of good cheer and faith and continue to wait. Because, He might not answer when you want Him to, but when He does, it will be right on time!

Thanks for stopping by and God Bless You!

Tuesday's Testimonial 02

Hi Everyone! It's time for another Tuesday's Testimonial Linking Party.

Each Tuesday I will share a piece of art with Scripture on it and encourage you to do the same. It can be any time of paper-crafting item it just needs to have some Scripture on it. You can share some encouraging words about the particular Scripture you chose and how it has worked in your life or what it means to you.

If you do link up remember to pay a visit to one or two of the other links and share in their blessings as well.

Today I'm sharing a 6x6 Scripture page. These will go into an album that I'm working on as a gift for my Sister-In-Law.

It's important for us to remember that God's Grace is enough for whatever we are facing in our lives. Whether it is something that is a weakness for us or a temptation that we battle with. If we turn it over to Him we find that His strength will help us to persevere over those weaknesses, trials, and temptations we may be facing. God's Grace is enough to cover a multitude of sins, so it should only stand to reason that the same Grace will help us through our weaknesses.

God's Grace is Sufficent!
Scripture is the Word of God. We are what it says we are. We can do what it says we can do. We can have what it says we can have. You must have FAITH and believe that you are, you can do, and you can have just what it says.
Looking forward to seeing what you have to share this week.

PSC33: For a Special Man

This week at The Perfect Sentiment we are challenging you to honor the special men in your life with a card. You can use whatever sentiment you feel appropriate for your masculine card as long as you remember to include it on the front of your card. Our twist this week is "no patterned paper".

Our sponsor this week is Pattie's Creations.
Pattie will award one random winner a digital stamp of their choice.

Since I couldn't use any patterned paper I chose to work with one of the older dynamic duos from Stampin' Up!®...Retired Brilliant Blue and current Bashful Blue. I chose to create an embossed pattern on the Bashful Blue cardstock using a Sizzix Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

I cut out a lacy oval with a Spellbinders die and stamped the lighthouse image from Sweet n Sassy Stamps on it in Danube Blue from Memento Ink. I then inked all the edges of the lacy oval with the same color of ink. When I think of masculine cards I always think of buttons so, I added three buttons to the bottom of the panel for a clean and simple finished look.

My Design Team and Guest Designers have done their usual Rock Star quality creations. Please pay them a visit:
 Sassy
Jan
 Abby

Once inspired, please come join us at The Perfect Sentiment.

Here are some more fun challenges that I would like to enter:
Die-Cuttin Divas: Buttons, Banners, and/or Birthdays
Paper and Such Design: Father's Day
Top Tip Tuesday: Dig out the old. Use something older than 6 months. (Brilliant Blue cardstock and blue buttons have been in my stash since 2006)
The Pink Elephant: Buttons Galore

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. God Bless You!

The Perfect Sentiment: Inspired with Love

It's Wednesday Folks and that means it's time for another challenge over at The Perfect Sentiment.

This week we are challenging you to create a card with a sentiment that lets someone know you love them. This does not have to be a Valentine's Day card but, it's also okay if it is.
The twist to the challenge is to use the following photo as inspiration for your card design.

Our sponsor this week is

One lucky random winner will receive one free digi of their choice from Shelly.

After two attempts at this challenge here is what I ended up with.

I used Rose Red CS for my card base. I paired that with the Vintage Springtime DSP from Stampin' Up and Pear Pizzaaz CS. Ribbon is Very Vanilla seam binding.
The different layers were created with Spellbinders Lacy Squares and Labels Eighteen Dies. I heavily inked the edges of some of the layers to create an aged, worn look.

I am entering this card into the challenge over at Stampin' Sister's in Christ. There challenge this week is to create a card/project that shows love.

You must stop by and visit my fellow design team members to see what they did with this challenge:

Feel the Love at Sentimental Sundays

It's Sunday and I pray that it's a blessed one for you. It's also time for another challenge at Sentimental Sundays!

This week we our challenging you to "Feel the Love" and make something for Valentine's Day or someone you love.

The base of my card was made with Poppy Parade cardstock from SU. I used some really old designer paper from The Angel Company and the colors seemed to match up well with Poppy Parade and Chocolate Chip from SU. I would have never thought to put these two colors together if they were not already combined in this paper but, I love the end result! I matted my designer paper with Chocolate Chip and then ran them both through my Cuttlebug with the Hearts embossing folder. My image and sentiment are from Sweet N Sassy Stamps. I stamped my image on Whisper White cardstock and then I sponged around the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink. I used Whisper White again with a Heart Tag Sizzix Sizzlits Die. I completely sponged over it with Antique Linen before stamping my sentiment on it. Then I wrapped some baker's twine around the panel and through the hole in my tag to secure it to the card. I know that many of you have jumped on the baker's twine bandwagon however, I had not tried it until today. I can see why everyone likes it so much.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Tuesday Throwdown: Use Hearts
Card Makin Mammas: Valentine

Valentine's Day is right around the corner so, "feel the love" and make something for your special someone and come join us at Sentimental Sundays. Be sure to stop by the Sentimental Sundays blog for more inspiration from the Design Team.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by my blog today. God Bless You.

Sentimental Sundays Anything Goes Challenge & New Years Blog Hop Party!

Hello and Happy New Year! It's time for a Sentimental Sunday challenge and the New Years Blog Hop Party I've been talking about for the past couple of weeks!

Our challenge this week is Anything Goes plus a sentiment! How super easy is that for the first challenge of the New Year?

Okay, now for the blog hop information...
You should have arrived here from Kathy's blog. If you didn't arrive here from Kathy's blog and would like to join in on the hop, please start at the Sentimental Sunday's challenge blog.

Since the challenge was anything goes and I have Christmas Stamps that need to be broken in for the first time, I made a Christmas card. I know everyone is probably sick of Christmas cards by now but, I ended up with the flu and didn't get to finish mine. So bare with me while I still enjoy them for a little while longer.

We hope you will join in our “Anything Goes” (plus a sentiment) challenge this week.  We have amazing sponsors and to make things a little more exciting, there are hidden prizes being offered by some of our design team members.

For instance, one lucky commenter on my blog will win this Verve Stamp Set

So make sure you visit each stop along the way and enter your comments.

Your next stop on the hop is Samara. If you should happen to get lost along the way, you can find the blog hop list over at the Sentimental Sundays challenge blog. The hop ends on Saturday, January 7th at midnight EST. The winners will be announced on the Sentimental Sundays challenge blog on Tuesday, January 10th. (I'll announce my winner right here, next Sunday so, be sure to stop back by) So, hop on over to the next stop and good luck!

Sweet Stop Sketch 122

Hello everyone! It's Saturday and I hope that you are off to a wonderful weekend! Saturday also means that it's time for another sketch from the Sweet Stop. Before, I get into the sketch I wanted to share some news with you...This week Korin, the owner of Sweet n Sassy Stamps/Sweet Stop announced that they have become a Member Company at Splitcoast Stampers! The excitement all began on Monday with the August New Release party held in their brand new Member Company forum on SCS. Nothing has changed as far as the Sweet Stop sketches and they will still be hosted at the Sweet Stop blog. If you are a member of the Sweet n Sassy Connection that is still operating as usual. There is one new thing...A new challenge called the Sweet n Sassy Inspiration challenge that can be found in the member company forum at SCS. I combined the inspiration challenge with the sketch.

Here is Taylor's inspiration piece...

Here is Korin's sketch with a spin for this week...

Here is my card combining the two challenges...

Supplies:
Paisley and Petals DSP, Baja Breeze CS, Always Artichoke CS, - Stampin' Up!®; Frayed Burlap and Broken China distress inks - Ranger Industries; Lace-WalMart; Button-Basic Grey; Flower-CTMH; August Gladiola stamp set - Sweet n Sassy Stamps; Victoria embossing folder-Provo Craft; Lacey Labels cartridge, Cricut Expression - vvs

I used the Frayed Burlap distress ink over the raised areas of the of the Victoria embossing folder so that the embossed detail would be more visible. I inked the edges of the half-circle with Broken China distress ink as well as directly inking the white flower with the same ink to have the flower stand out more.

Be sure to visit my fellow Sugar Babies to see what they did with the sketch...

Join us at the Sweet Stop to play along and link up your creation! Have a blessed weekend!

Sweet Stop Sketch 121

Hi Everyone! Hope you all are having a fantastic weekend. It's Saturday and time for another sketch at the Sweet Stop.
Here is the sketch for this week:
Here is my take on the sketch...

My image is "Cocoa's Teacup" from Sweet n Sassy Digi stamps. My sentiment is from Verve Stamps. Everything I used on this card is from my older "stash" of products. This sketch was a lot of fun and pretty straightforward. It is definitely going in my stack of go-to sketches.
Be sure to visit my fellow Sugar Babies to see what they did with the sketch...

Life's a Beach: Charm Feature

Today I am experimenting with the charm feature on the Life's a Beach cartridge for Christian Paper Crafts.
The "charm" is basically a tag with an image in the middle of it.
I knew that I wanted to work with this adorable digi image from Sweet n Sassy Stamps...
I flipped through my handbook until I came across a sandcastle. I thought that would be perfect to go with my digi image above.

Instead of using the "layers" feature to add different colors of cardstock to my sandcastle, I just colored the it with my copics and accented it with stickles.
For my finished project, I decided to make a long card inspired by the challenge this week at CAS-ual Fridays...the Long and Short of It.

If you have this cartridge, why don't you give the charm feature a try?
Thanks for stopping by today!
