Classy Cards N Such: Thankful for You

Hello blogging friends! I'm here today with a card created for the Classy Cards N Such Challenge. Our challenge this week is "Sunflower Inspired".
As soon as I saw this challenge I knew that I would be pulling out my French Country designer paper by Graphic 45. I literally am in love with every single sheet in this paper pad!

I started with a 4.25 x 5.5 cardstock base. I distressed the edges of the sunflower paper from the French Country paper pad to add to my card base. Next using Lattice Rectangles by Spellbinders and white cardstock, I die-cut a lovely rectangle to stamp my sunflower on. I colored it and then added a green bling rectangle from the Blue/Green Lattice Rectangles Nestabling around the sunflower and just inside the lattice edges. I added some Mustard Seed Distress Ink around the lattice edges.

For my next layer, I used the opposite side of the sunflower paper and a slightly darker cardstock to create a long rectangle. I glued the pieces together and then ran them through my Cuttlebug with the Anna Griffin Matelasse embossing folder. I love the weaved appearance you get from this folder. It makes my sunflower appear as if it is poking out over a fence.

For finishing touches, I used the Teramo Labels from Memory Box to die-cut a label to stamp my sentiment on. These lovely little label die-cuts are perfect for stamping small sentiments on and there are two other sets that Beverly carries in the store. I own them all and will be showcasing more of them at a later date.

The stamp set I have used today is from Gina K Designs. It is a Stamp Set Duo called Thankful for you.

I hope you have enjoyed my card today and feel inspired to join the challenge. Thanks for stopping by!

Classy Cards N Such: It Is Well

Hello blogging friends! I'm here today with a card created for the Classy Cards N Such Challenge. Our challenge this week is to use some form of gingham on your card. As soon as I saw this challenge I knew that I wanted to pull out my Secret Garden paper pad by Graphic 45. It's one of my absolute faves and it has several different shades of gingham to choose from!

I started my card with a 5.5" x 5.5" square lavender cardstock base. I added a sheet of lavender gingham designer paper from Secret Garden paper pad. I wanted the paper to stand out just a bit from the base so I inked the edges with distress ink.

Before adhering the gingham paper to the base I added three strips of Black Polka Dot Trendy Tape diagonally across the paper.

For my next layer I cut a rectangle of lavender cardstock and ran it through my Cuttlebug with the Dots Embossing Folder. I added distress ink to the edges.

For my focal point of the card I used Spellbinders Decorative Labels Twenty-Seven and white cardstock to create an elegant label to stamp my sentiment on.

I added black pearls to the centers of my stamped flowers and for finishing touches I added a black swirl in the lower corner.

Thanks for stopping by today! Be sure to join the challenge at Classy Cards N Such Blog. You can save 10% off your entire purchase at Classy Cards N Such Store by using my discount code: JENNIPHER-10. Tuesday's Testimonial 08

Happy Tuesday! It's time for Tuesday's Testimonial Linky Party where I share a project with Scripture on it and invite you to share any kind of paper crafted project with Scripture on it. It's all just for fun and to help spread the Word of God.
Supplies: Yo-Yo Yellow and Tempting Turquoise CS from SU; Divine Swirls embossing folder-Cuttlebug; Lacy Circles Dies-Spellbinders; Blue Ocean Liquid Pearls; Image and Sentiment from Sunshine and Rain Digital Stamp Sets from Daydream Designs.

We are here in darkness, but if God be our God, he will be to us a Sun, to enlighten and enliven us, to guide and direct us. We are here in danger, but he will be to us a Shield, to secure us from the fiery darts that fly thick about us. Though he has not promised to give riches and dignities, he has promised to give grace and glory to all that seek them in his appointed way. Let it be our desire to walk uprightly, and then let us trust God to give us everything that is good for us.

If you would like to share a project with me that you've made using Scripture please use the inlinkz tool below. I'd love to see what you've made using the Word of God!

I'm linking this up to the Make It Monday Linking Party.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. May God Bless You!

Our Daily Bread Designs Shining Light Challenge 99

It's been way to long since I've had time to create something just because I wanted to. It's been even longer since I've had time or the occasion to use my stamps from Our Daily Bread Designs. So, I was thrilled when I popped over to their blog today and saw that I still had time left to play in their challenge.

ODBDSLC99: Stamped Flowers

If there is one thing I love it is flowers! So, a challenge that includes them is even better. Not to mention I had purchased the "Don't Worry" set from ODBD which included a flower stamp and it was still in the plastic.

I really enjoyed creating this project! I'm not sure how I ended up with all the green but it seems to work.
My scripture was stamped on a piece of white cardstock cut out with Spellbinders Label Eighteen. I sponged the edges with ink and then mounted it onto a doily that was cut out with the French Pastry Doily Die from Cheery Lynn Designs. I added liquid pearls around the edges of the label. I stamped the flower, colored it and then fussy cut it out. I used a Martha Stewart border punch on the top and bottom of the patterned paper.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. God Bless You.

Lace & Pearls at Sentimental Sundays

Hello everyone! It's been two weeks since my last post. First of all, I would like to thank all of you for your prayers and kind thoughts about my Mom. It was touch and go there for awhile, hence my absence from blogging and designing. I am happy to report that she is finally back home with me. A special "thank you" to all my design teams for their understanding love and support, most especially the lovely ladies over at Sentimental Sundays. I'm proud to say I am a part of their team.

This week at Sentimental Sundays we are challenging you to use Lace & Pearls and don't forget your sentiment!

I used the Viva la Verve February sketch #1 as inspiration for the design of my card.

The challenge this week at Paper Crafting Journey is to "make it cute". What could be any cuter than this fun image by Saturated Canary? The Southern Girls Challenge is "so distressed" which is not really a challenge for me as my go-to style is to add some distress inks to everything!

sentiment from the Verve Stamp Set "Feeling Groovy"

Be sure to stop by Sentimental Sundays and see what my fellow designers did with the lace and pearls challenge!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. God Bless You.

Feel the Love at Sentimental Sundays

It's Sunday and I pray that it's a blessed one for you. It's also time for another challenge at Sentimental Sundays!

This week we our challenging you to "Feel the Love" and make something for Valentine's Day or someone you love.

The base of my card was made with Poppy Parade cardstock from SU. I used some really old designer paper from The Angel Company and the colors seemed to match up well with Poppy Parade and Chocolate Chip from SU. I would have never thought to put these two colors together if they were not already combined in this paper but, I love the end result! I matted my designer paper with Chocolate Chip and then ran them both through my Cuttlebug with the Hearts embossing folder. My image and sentiment are from Sweet N Sassy Stamps. I stamped my image on Whisper White cardstock and then I sponged around the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink. I used Whisper White again with a Heart Tag Sizzix Sizzlits Die. I completely sponged over it with Antique Linen before stamping my sentiment on it. Then I wrapped some baker's twine around the panel and through the hole in my tag to secure it to the card. I know that many of you have jumped on the baker's twine bandwagon however, I had not tried it until today. I can see why everyone likes it so much.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Tuesday Throwdown: Use Hearts
Card Makin Mammas: Valentine

Valentine's Day is right around the corner so, "feel the love" and make something for your special someone and come join us at Sentimental Sundays. Be sure to stop by the Sentimental Sundays blog for more inspiration from the Design Team.

Die Cuttin Divas: Buttons, Bling, and/or Bows

Hello everyone! It's Tuesday and time for another challenge with the Die Cuttin Divas.

This week we want to see you use buttons, bling, and/or bows plus a die-cut.

I decided to go with bling and instead of using my Cricut this week I decided to work with some of my trusty dies from Spellbinders, Sizzix and Cuttlebug.

I distressed and inked the edges of the base as well as sponged ink around the edges of the lacy square before I stamped my Scripture on it. I used some baby bling around the lacy edges of the square.

So what do you fancy? Buttons, bling, or bows or all three? Figure it out and then get out your die-cuts and come play along with us at Die Cuttin Divas.

Do you enjoy making projects with Scripture on them? If you do and would like to share them with others, my friend Abby has a weekly linking party for projects made with Scripture on them. I will be linking this project up to Little Birdie Blessings.

This week our challenge is to use die-cuts. But, not just standard shapes. We want you to get out your die-cutting tools and have fun.

For this challenge, I decided to use my Cricut and Cindy Loo Cartridge which is quickly becoming a favorite of mine.

Now, it's your turn to give it a try. Get out your die-cutting tools and step out of your comfort zone. Stop by Sentimental Sundays to see what my fellow team mates created. You're guaranteed to be delighted!

I made my squirrel using the Cindy Loo cartridge and my Cricut.

My fellow DT members got really creative with this challenge and came up with some cute sentiments. I decided to be practical and make it a fall themed card as I never have enough of those when it's time to send them out.

Guest Designing with The Die Cuttin Divas: Tags, Tags, & More Tags

Happy Tuesday Everyone! I'm very excited today to be Guest Designing with the fabulous ladies from Die Cuttin' Divas.

If you are not familiar with them they are a challenge blog dedicated to using those die-cut machines we all just had to have. Raise your hand if you fall into this category!

Our challenge this week is called Tags, Tags, & More Tags and it is sponsored by the wonderful Whimsie Doodles. They gave us some adorable Christmas images to work with and I will be showcasing three of those images here today on my tags.

I decided to use my Cricut along with my Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge to cut out my tag bases.

Let's have a look...

This tag uses the Tag Jar image. I just loved those peppermint candies and knew when I saw it that I would use the image along with this peppermint striped paper from American Crafts. Don't they just look yummy? And nothing says Christmas like peppermint candy. I used the Sizzlits Lots of Tags Die set from Stampin' Up!® to cut out the label that I stamped "Holiday Joy" on.

Here we have the Penguin. He just looked plain cold to me so I thought a background of embossed snowflakes would suit him well. I used my snowflake Cuttlebug embossing folder and then inked over the raised areas with Soft Sky ink. This is a retired color from Stampin' Up but, I still love it and I used the matching ribbon or the bow. I used the same label as above to stamp "Let it Snow" on.

My final tag uses the Gift Box. I went clean and simple here. Just colored the image. cut it out, and let it stand on it's on against a white background. I used a different tag from the Sizzlits Lots of Tags Die set and I stamped "Holly Jolly" on it. I used some hemp cord to tie the two tags together and inked the outer edges of the tag base with Fired Brick Distress Ink.

All of the sentiments I used today are from Verve's Holiday Phrases stamp set.

This was a lot of fun and I hope you are inspired to get out whatever tag dies or cartridges you may have and make some tags. If you do, be sure to come share them with us over at Die Cuttin' Divas!

Verve Get Your Diva On: Monochromatic

It's time again for another Verve Get Your Diva On Challenge and this month Sankari has challenged us to using a monochromatic color scheme. I actually enjoy working with monochromatic schemes and my favorite one to use is pink.

Here is what I came up with for Sankari's challenge:
I used Blushing Bride and Regal Rose from Stampin' Up!® to create my monochromatic color scheme.

The challenge this week at Stamp R Us is friendship. I made this card with my long-time friend, Joanne in mind. We met each other at work several years ago, instantly hit it off as friends, and worked together for 16 years until I had to leave retail due to Fibromyalgia. Of course we promised to stay in touch and get together as often as possible but life does get in the way and it's been awhile since I've seen her. She's really been on my mind a lot this week so I used the "I've been thinking about you" sentiment from Verve Stamps.

A nice lady whose name is Heather from SCS left a comment on my card in the gallery and said it fit perfectly for a new challenge that started this week at Dolce Stamps and Cards to create a distressed card. I rarely make a card without distressing the edges of at least one piece of paper or using inks to distress the edges so this was right up my alley. Thanks Heather for that tip!

One final look and supply details:
Supplies:
  • Stamps: Verve Wildflower Plain Jane, Verve Small Phrases
  • Cardstock: Stampin' Up!® Blushing Bride, Regal Rose
  • Designer Paper: Stampin' Up!® Patterns DSP Stack Blushing Bride, Regal Rose
  • Ink: Stampin' Up!® Blushing Bride, Regal Rose
  • Tools: Spellbinders Lacy Circles, Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Cuttlebug
  • Accessories: Ribbon, Buttons, Brads- from stash
Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you all are having a blessed weekend.

September Viva la Verve Week One

Hello and Happy Labor Day! Hope you all are having a splendid holiday. It is a four-day weekend for me and that means a little extra time for creativity.
I just love playing along with the Viva la Verve sketch challenges. Each week a different Verve Diva provides a sketch to challenge us with and you just never know what you are going to get! Here is what Amber came up with for the first week of September:

I was really at a loss when I saw this sketch! Tall skinny cards are not my thing.Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net
But, since I had some tall pre-made card bases from K&Co. I decided I may as well challenge myself to use the sketch.

I got my idea for the color scheme from the CRE84FN challenge blog...

as well as from this weeks challenge at Stampin Sisters in Christ:
Challenge:  Nothing bright. Use 'quiet' colors in your creation, either pastels, or low key earthtones, soft, muted shades of beige or neutrals.

The sentiment for my card was inspired by The Paper Players:
