CDS: February New Release

Hi Everyone! It's the 15th of the month and that means it's time to see the newly released digital images from Clearly Digi Stamps by Clear Dollar Stamps!
There are some really darling sets being released this month so be sure to stop by the Clearly iStamp Blog to see all the new releases.
Today, I get to preview two of the new sets right here on my blog!
First up is Eat More Cake...

From this set I used the blue sprinkled paper, the cake image which I layered with the sprinkles image in PSE, and the fun sentiment.  I used a cupcake embossing folder to keep inline with my cake theme. To pull it all together I cut out two brown corner accents using my Cricut and Storybook cartridge and added blue rhinestones to the center. My cake image is also layered on some Cricut cuts from Elegant Edges cartridge.

Next up is Seasonal Crosses...

Using a rose-bud embossing folder I embossed the front of a plain white pre-made card base. Then I went over the raised areas with one of my Versa Magic chalk inks. I staggered some pink liquid pearls in the centers of the embossed roses and around some of the leaves. Using my Cricut and Elegant Edges cartridge I cut out a white label to print the spring cross image on. Before printing the spring cross image I layered the Hope sentiment onto the cross using PSE. I colored the spring cross with my Copics. I wanted this layer to really pop against the green so, I cut out another label in pink and mounted the spring cross image onto it. Again using my liquid pearls I went all the way around the label making tiny pearls to add elegance and pop to this otherwise clean and simple card.

If you already love Clearly Digi Stamps or would love the opportunity to try them for free please stop back by my blog on Sunday 2.17.13
We will be having our monthly blog hop and the best part is that every Designer on the hop will be allowed to give away the set that she used on her design to one lucky random winner who leaves a comment. Isn't that super cool? The winner will receive a full free set including colored and non-colored images, matching sentiments and digital papers where applicable. So don't miss out. See you on Sunday!

April 2011 CPC Design Team Delights

Tomorrow the Christian Paper Crafts Design Team Delights Gallery for April will open! Our theme for this month was Mother's Day & Friendship: Honoring the Special Women in Your Life. If you are a Super Sister or King's Daughter you will have access to the gallery. In it you will find projects like this one...

I cut out this card using the Cricut Expression and the Wild Card Cartridge. Wild Card has so many unique shaped cards for different themes and holidays. It also comes with matching envelopes for each card shape. I used one of the new paper collections from DCWV called Blossom Song. It is one of the most beautiful collections I have ever seen from them. The base for my sentiment was cut from Storybook. This is another great cartridge! It has fancy corners and accents that are perfect for card-making.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Mojo Monday 185

This is my first time playing along with the Mojo Monday sketch and actually submitting my entry before the deadline!

Here is the sketch that Julee challenged us with...
I wasn't sure what I was going to create with this sketch at first. I've got quite a bit of Verve stamps I haven't used yet and received my latest order this week. So, more Verve to add to the mix and they are all just wonderful so how do you choose? Then I remembered that my brother has a birthday at the end of the week and certainly he deserves a handmade card.
I started my card with some retired SU DSP - Le'Jardin. I used just one sheet from the collection, taking advantage of the fact that it is double sided. I used River Rock and Sky Blue cardstock for mounting the layers. Instead of doing a scalloped border like you see in the sketch I chose to use the fleur de lis border stamp from "Kindred Spirits" and stamp a border using Aegean Blue ink from VersaMagic. I cut out two scalloped ovals using the Storybook cartridge and my Cricut Expression - one in white and one in Sky Blue. On the white oval I used the balloon image from "Black Tie Birdies" and stamped a bouquet of ballons and colored them ever so lightly with my copics. My "enjoy today" sentiment comes from the same set. I added some Sky Blue ribbon and some buttons from my stash to complete my card. I never feel like a project is complete without inking the edges so all the edges are inked with either Sky Blue or River Rock Classic Ink from SU.

Well, I hope you like the card I shared with you today and if you haven't ever tried Verve stamps you should! They are simply the best clear stamps I have ever used, hands down. And no, I do not work for the company nor am I a member of their design team. Just a truly pleased customer with the products they offer and the kindness I have experienced from the Verve Co. Owner, Julee Tilman and her wonderful Verve Divas!

Clean & Simple / Monochromatic

Our Clean & Simple Saturday challenge at Christian Papercrafts was to use a Monochromatic color Scheme.

Since I'm in the process of making Easter cards I decided to go with a yellow scheme. It was also the perfect opportunity to show off some new Verve stamps I got in the mail last week!

All the fancy die-cuts were made with the Cricut and the Storybook Cartridge. As you can see the Cricut opens up a whole new realm of creative possibilities for your handmade cards.
