Classy Cards N Such: Peace

Hello Everyone! It's time for me to share a new card made with products from the Classy Cards N Such Online Store.

My card is simple, yet elegant and can be made in under 15 minutes. This would be a great card to mass produce!

I started with a base of Pearlized Esse White Metallic measuring 4.25 x 5.5 inches. I ran the front layer through my Cuttlebug with the Holiday Magic Spellbinders M-Bossabilities folder. These are fabulous as they are double-sided embossing folders. I used the "swirly" side.

Next, using the Holly Corner from Cheery Lynn Designs and the Stardream Emerald cardstock, I cut out two holly corners and added Baby Rhinestones in Red for the berries.

Continuing to work with the Stardream Emerald cardstock, I die cut a Grommet Tag and added Red Rhinestones in the grommet holes.

Using white cardstock and Spellbinders Labels Eighteen I die cut a label to stamp my sentiment on and then layered it on top of the grommet tag.

Distressing @ Sentimental Sundays

Did someone say "distressing"? Yep, that's what I heard. Distressing is one of my favorite things to do. In fact, I rarely make a card without it. So, when I saw that our challenge this week at Sentimental Sundays was distressing, I thought "easy peasy" for me!

Since that was an easy part for me I decided to give myself the added challenge of making a easel card. Now, keep in mind this is my first ever easel card so, please go easy on me.

This is a 6x6 easel card. I distressed the edges of my blue designer paper on the top base layer with my distressing tool and then I inked them with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Faded Jeans. My vertical layer with the seam binding ribbon was distressed and inked also. I also used the Faded Jeans ink to sponge in the center of the lacy circles. I didn't have any flowers this color so I decided to blot my white Prima on the distress ink pad. I think it gives it kind of a rugged affect.

A couple of close ups...

There is another thing I love as much as I do distressing and that is my Our Daily Bread Designs stamps. Their Shining Light Challenge this week is distressing so, I was more than happy to break out my stamps and play along.

Another reason I chose their stamps for this card is because I made this card to give to someone very special to me who is getting ready to embark on a journey for the next four months and could really use some encouragement. What could be more encouraging than knowing that without a doubt our Lord is with us every step of the way! No matter what we face each day, we do not face it alone. I don't know about you, but that makes it a lot easier for me to get up every morning and face the day.

I'd also like to enter this card into the challenge at Stampin' Sister's In Christ this week where they are challenging you to add some sparkle to your card. I think my blue bling counts as sparkle!

Last but not least is another challenge I have come to enjoy and appreciate is Word Art Wednesday where each week they challenge you to create something with Scripture on it or any encouraging words.

Be sure to stop by Sentimental Sundays  and see what my fellow designers created for this challenge. You are certain to be inspired.

Thanks for stopping by today. God Bless You!

Anything Goes with Red, White, & Blue @ The Perfect Sentiment

Happy 4th of July! Today in the United States we celebrate our Independence. Our challenge this week at The Perfect Sentiment is a reflection of that freedom. Create anything you like using our Nation's colors and don't forget to include your sentiment on the front!

We have a new sponsor this week: Crafty Sentiments Designs.
Crafty Sentiments Designs will award one lucky random winner 3 free digis of their choice.

I chose to create a card with a subtle patriotic flair and focus on a Scripture that speaks about the "Victory" we have through our Lord. After all, God made the first sacrifice by giving His only Son to take away our sins so that we could be free from all the shame and guilt. I used a white flower on top of the red polka dot pattern to symbolize how His blood washed away all our sins and we are now white as snow.

Challenges I would like to enter:

Take a moment to stop by The Perfect Sentiment to see inspiration from the rest of the Design Team. Get inspired and come join the fun!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I pray that you all have a blessed Independence Day.

Dance Every Day

Today I'm sharing a card that was inspired by two different challenges:

Stampin' Sisters In Christ: use an image showing action

The Paper Shelter: Going Dottie

My card design was inspired by this sketch from Verve's week two of June Viva la Verve Sketch Challenge...

I used the Enchanted Dancing image from The Paper Shelter to show action. For my dots I used this fabulous patterned paper from Glitz Designs Pretty in Pink collection.

Most of the supplies I used on this card were provided to me by Classy Cards N Such Online Store:

Glitz Designs Pretty in Pink 6" x 6" paper pad
Spellbinders Lacy Circles
Lace Corner Deco E by Cheery Lynn Designs
Spring Embossing Folder
Spellbinders Labels Eighteen
Textured Two Tone Ribbon by May Arts in Pink/White

The sentiment I used comes from the Verve Stamp Set "Beautiful You" and I thought it went perfectly with this darling image from The Paper Shelter. The image is actually a "pre-colored" digital image. However, it doesn't look this way when you buy it. I used some effects and filters in Photoshop Elements to alter the image so that it would blend with the patterned papers I wanted to use.

This is what the image looks like when you buy it. As you can see the pinks are much brighter and her hair is lighter. The mushrooms are also a brighter shade of red and I altered them to have a more brown tone.

I have to admit that I think I could really get into working with these pre-colored digis especially since I can alter them with different effects in PSE. I'm not very good at coloring so this makes line art digi images more of a possibility for me.

What's even more fantastic is The Paper Shelter offers a pre-colored digi with every image you buy!

I hope you like my card and my altered digital image. Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Uplifting Sketch @ The Perfect Sentiment

Hello Everyone! It's Wednesday and time for another challenge at The Perfect Sentiment.

Our sponsor this week is
and she is giving away one free digi to one lucky random winner

The Challenge is to create a card with an uplifting sentiment. (sentiment must be on the front of your card) You can congratulate someone, encourage them to pursue their dreams or goals, etc.
The Twist is to use the following sketch as a basis for your card design.

This challenge is actually perfect timing for me as I have a co-worker/friend who is leaving to go back to school. The decision is bittersweet as I will miss her but I understand her reasoning behind leaving. We are going through a staffing re-model and everyone's job is changing, hours are getting cut, etc. In fact, I'm being transferred to another location. So, the season of change is upon us but fear not, as God has it all in His Master Plan!

My friend's favorite color is purple so, I ended up using this combo I found on the Stampin' Up! Color Coach: Elegant Eggplant, Lucky Limeade, Wisteria Wonder. I'm still learning how to use my Janome Sew-Mini so, I hope you will overlook my crooked stitching. The scripture and the stamped flowers are all from Verve Stamps.

Here are a few challenges I would like to enter my card into:

Party Time Tuesdays: Anything Goes
Ribbon Carousel: Anything Goes
Shopping Our Stash: Circles or Dots (patterned paper)
Use It Tuesday: Un-Inked Stamps (Verve flower stamps)
Make It Monday Linky Party
Stampin' Sisters in Christ: Opposite of CAS
Craft Room Challenge: Bling/Glitter/Sparkle (Kaisercraft Rhinestones, Liquid Pearls)
Cheerful Stamp Pad: Anything Goes
Lollipop Crafts: Anything Goes
Make My Monday: Spring/New Life or Beginnings (flowers for spring, scripture for new beginnings)

The Perfect Sentiment: Inspired with Love

It's Wednesday Folks and that means it's time for another challenge over at The Perfect Sentiment.

This week we are challenging you to create a card with a sentiment that lets someone know you love them. This does not have to be a Valentine's Day card but, it's also okay if it is.
The twist to the challenge is to use the following photo as inspiration for your card design.

Our sponsor this week is

One lucky random winner will receive one free digi of their choice from Shelly.

After two attempts at this challenge here is what I ended up with.

I used Rose Red CS for my card base. I paired that with the Vintage Springtime DSP from Stampin' Up and Pear Pizzaaz CS. Ribbon is Very Vanilla seam binding.
The different layers were created with Spellbinders Lacy Squares and Labels Eighteen Dies. I heavily inked the edges of some of the layers to create an aged, worn look.

I am entering this card into the challenge over at Stampin' Sister's in Christ. There challenge this week is to create a card/project that shows love.

More 3D Art from Classy Cards N Such

Happy Thursday Everyone! I'm back with another card using the 3D Art from the Classy Cards N Such Online Store.

These 3D flowers are so easy and fun to put together. The die-cut sheets are numbered so it's super easy to put them together. I used a new paper pad from Glitz Designs called Graced with Lace. I loved how  the red flower in the background blended with my 3D flower. My card base is Poppy Parade from Stampin' Up!®. Just love that orangey-red color and I'm going to have to stock up on it before it goes away. The eyelet trim is a gift from my friend Sarah over at My Little Somethings who just happens to have some awesome blog candy going on right now! You should definitely pay her a visit.

All of the products used on my card today can be found at Classy Cards N Such online store. For direct links to the products see this blog post: Classy Cards N Such. Take 10% off your order with discount code: JENNIPHER-10

The Glory, The Wonder, The Miracle

Hello everyone! I can't believe that Christmas is almost here. Where did the 2011 year go? It sure went by too fast.

I have a Christmas card to share with you today. This card was inspired by two challenges:

Stamps R Us:
Our challenge theme is Angelic!  We challenge you to make a card or paper craft project with an angel on it!

Stampin' Sisters in Christ:
Challenge:  Make a Christmas card or project that has a Christian image and/or sentiment, one that reflects the TRUE meaning of Christmas.
I found some incredible deals on the K & Co. Christmas line at Michael's. My Angel is one of their Grand Adhesions Dimensional Stickers from the "Visions of Christmas" collection. I love using their pre-made embellishments on my cards. That fabulous sentiment is from Verve's "Blessed Christmas" stamp set.
Thanks for stopping by. May you be blessed this Christmas and always.

Perfect Sentiments Challenge 05: Thanksgiving with Brads or Eyelets

Hello there! It's Wednesday and that means it's time to get your challenge on over at The Perfect Sentiment.

The Challenge: create a card that reflects a sentiment of Thanksgiving/Fall
The Twist: use eyelets or brads on your card

I used jumbo brads and I didn't realize how large they really were. I guess the word "jumbo" should have been my clue. LOL! My leaf is from Prima and it's from my stash. I found this on the clearance at Michael's last year in all sorts of colors and just knew that I would need them for my cards. Yeah, it's my first time using one! I used an older stamp set from CTMH that may be retired by now. It's called Autumn Splendor. First time using it too. I am such a hoarder! You'll recognize that Designer Series Paper as Fall Flowers from SU. I used one of my last two pieces of Really Rust cardstock for the card base.

My card also qualifies for two more challenges:

The Paper Players: add a fall element to your card
Stampin Sister's in Christ: use fall colors in your creation- crimson, orange, and gold or similar

Let's have one final look:

You will find plenty more inspiration by visiting my fellow Design Team Member's blogs...

Once you're inspired come play along at the Perfect Sentiment! You card could be featured as one of the "Perfect 3" or you could be the lucky random winner! Our sponsor this week is Stacey from our Design Team.

Classy Cards N Such: O Christmas Tree

Hello! It's time for me to share my latest card created with fabulous products from Classy Cards N Such.

I started my card by making the base with Stardream Emerald cardstock. This is a really beautiful and shimmery cardstock. It is so hard to describe the color and it's just so much more beautiful in real life. Next, I added various layers of patterned papers from the Collection Combo Pack - Waiting for Santa & Sweet Season by Webster's Pages. Love, love this collection! You simply must buy it! Using my Lacey Ovals dies from Spellbinders, I cut out one large oval and one smaller one. For the larger one I used Curious Translucents - Plum Iridescent specialty paper. This paper is so unique because it is a shimmery plum on the front and a matte burgundy on the back. I used the shimmery plum side. On the smaller oval I stamped a Christmas Tree Image from Verve Stamps. Using a Fancy Tags die from Spellbinders I cut out a label to stamp my sentiment on. I added a line of rhinestones that are comparable to Want 2 Scrap's Purple Rhinestones. I finished it off with a beautifully layered flower from Prima's Flowershop - De Soie Collection. I rarely make a card without a little distressing so, all the edges of the papers are inked with Black Soot Distress Ink from Tim Holtz.
Stop by Classy Cards N Such and grab up some of these wonderful products I've used today. I guarantee you'll love them! While there be sure to use my discount code to take 10% off your order: JENNIPHER-10.

I'd like to link this card up to two of my favorite challenge sites:

Mojo 207 & More

Hello Everyone! Today, I have another fall card to share with you.

My starting point for this card was the Mojo Monday Sketch 207:

Some people get a little intimidated by the tilted panels but, I kind of think they are fun!

My color scheme for this card was inspired by this week's CRE84FN challenge:

I used Peach Parfait, Daffodil Delight, and Soft Suede CS from SU. The pattern papers I used from Echo Park's "Walk in the Park" collection just happened to blend nicely with the colors from SU.

Over at Paper Play Challenges the challenge was Autumn Leaves. So, I got out my leaf punch from EK Success Brands and punched three leaves using the Echo Park designer paper.

Hand Stamped Sentiments is challenging participants to Impress Them by using embossing. I thought my Pumpkin Embossing Folder from Cuttlebug would work out nicely with this card. I embossed Peach Parfait CS and then went over the raised areas with Peach Parfait Classic Ink.

Stampin' Sisters in Christ : Challenge:  Create a card that either says “Blessings” or uses an encouraging Scripture.

The "Harvest Blessings" sentiment from Verve worked out nicely for this fall-themed card which just happens to be the challenge at Tuesday Throwdown.

Sentimental Sundays is challenging us to step out of our comfort zone by doing something that we do not normally do. Paper-piercing is something that I do not normally do and I even have a set of tools that I purchased awhile back that is supposed to make paper-piercing easier but have never given it a try. So, tonight I used these EK Success Cutter Bee Piercing Bugs on my card:

I think I could use a little more practice with these but, I did get out of my comfort zone by at least trying them.

All of that inspiration is what led me to this...
