Today I'm sharing a card that was inspired by two different challenges:
Stampin' Sisters In Christ: use an image showing action
The Paper Shelter: Going Dottie
My card design was inspired by this sketch from Verve's week two of June Viva la Verve Sketch Challenge...
I used the Enchanted Dancing image from The Paper Shelter to show action. For my dots I used this fabulous patterned paper from Glitz Designs Pretty in Pink collection.
Most of the supplies I used on this card were provided to me by Classy Cards N Such Online Store:
Glitz Designs Pretty in Pink 6" x 6" paper pad
Spellbinders Lacy Circles
Lace Corner Deco E by Cheery Lynn Designs
Spring Embossing Folder
Spellbinders Labels Eighteen
Textured Two Tone Ribbon by May Arts in Pink/White
The sentiment I used comes from the Verve Stamp Set "Beautiful You" and I thought it went perfectly with this darling image from The Paper Shelter. The image is actually a "pre-colored" digital image. However, it doesn't look this way when you buy it. I used some effects and filters in Photoshop Elements to alter the image so that it would blend with the patterned papers I wanted to use.
This is what the image looks like when you buy it. As you can see the pinks are much brighter and her hair is lighter. The mushrooms are also a brighter shade of red and I altered them to have a more brown tone.
I have to admit that I think I could really get into working with these pre-colored digis especially since I can alter them with different effects in PSE. I'm not very good at coloring so this makes line art digi images more of a possibility for me.
What's even more fantastic is The Paper Shelter offers a pre-colored digi with every image you buy!
I hope you like my card and my altered digital image. Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
